The Toronto Comic Arts Festival is fast approaching (this weekend!), and I’ll be there at table 214, selling copies of Cut, as well as a new mini-comic, Yoko Ono Survivalflux. Here’s a three-page preview – the comic will be a total of six pages, folded from an 11×17 sheet (super small!) with a fun poster on the back!
Also of note: I’ve made a proper portfolio website, which can be found at WWW.ERICDRAWS.COM. I’ll be updating this blog more regularly with new work, but I thought it was time to get fancy and purchase a domain. Also, also of note: This blog is almost two years old! Weird.
A few items of note:
- After six months of work, five months of sitting around and deciding what to do with it all, and one month of tracking down an online newspaper printer and getting that set up, copies of “Cut” have finally arrived in the mail. When I get my act together, I’ll set up a Paypal for people to order online. Until then, shoot me an e-mail at ewcomics [at] gmail [dot] com if you would like a copy. They’re going for three bucks a piece.
- If you find yourself on the north-east area on the University of Toronto’s campus, pick up a copy of Acta Victoriana, Victoria University’s annual literary arts journal. They’ve included an illustration of mine from last year.
- And, if you find yourself at OCAD, check out their annual Retrospective Show, featuring work from all programs and all years. They’ve included one of my illustrations from Xtra’s special on the Bathhouse Riots.
Thanks, guys!
Past month has been a bit quiet on the creative front, much-needed hibernation happened, as did some good old fashioned reading for fun. A few exciting updates for the new year:
- I have illustration work in a recent issue of Toronto’s Xtra! Magazine, accompanying a review of Secret Historian: The Life and Times of Samuel Steward. I think a new issue is on stands now, but you can still have a look-see online.
- I’m set to exhibit at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, happening May 7-8, 2011. I’ll be debuting a new comic or two, as well as some fun, small stuff and (make sure you’re sitting down) free stickers. I’ve got a little write-up on their website.
- I’m also in the early stages of organizing an exciting collaborative project – there will be more updates in the next while, but for now, here’s a little peek:
